A Big Tent Coalition Town Hall Meeting on state budget issues was held
April 20 at the Johnson County Mental Health Center in Olathe. The event, sponsored by the Big Tent Coalition and Kansans for Quality Communities, provided an opportunity for area residents, elected officials, and professionals to learn about budget issues affecting all Kansans. Commission on Aging member Peg Deaton (right) testified about provision of support services for Johnson County elders during the event. Olathe resident Fern Coffin shared data about potential cost savings from provision of in-home services as compared with institutional care.
