Aging Information
|
The Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA), through the county's Human Services department, offers a single point of entry for aging services. Aging information specialists are your starting point for locating resources such as in-home services, congregate and home-delivered meals, transportation, legal assistance, insurance, and counseling.
Simply call 913-715-8861. In addition to assistance over the phone, you can receive resource directories, booklets, and brochures by mail to further address your information needs. Each call is handled in a timely and confidential manner.
Aging information specialists have voice mail to take your message when they are on another line or away from their desks. Please be sure to include your phone number when you leave a message. Specialists cannot answer hang-ups, calls without numbers, or calls in which the message is not clear or loud enough to hear. Please do not hesitate to call again.
When you request department-provided services, we may need to ask you for some additional information, including:
- Name, address, and phone number of the person needing services;
- Physician and phone number;
- Emergency contacts and phone numbers;
- Health information important for assessing needs;
- A Social Security number to keep multiple records in order; and
- Income and asset information to help determine appropriate services.
