Resource Guide for Seniors is updated |
The Kansas Department on Aging has updated its Resource Guide for Seniors, now in its 10th edition, with valuable information on legal issues, benefits, rights, and services.
An easy-to-read 68-page book, the Resource Guide covers Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, retirement, guardianship, living wills, supplemental security income, and home services. The publication is presented in a question-and-answer format.
The guide is divided into 10 sections: Consumer Information, Your Rights, Financial Assistance, Health Care, Housing, Legal Assistance, Future Planning, Taxes, Contact Information and Forms, and Toll-Free Numbers. The guide includes sample legal forms such as a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care Decisions, a Living Will Declaration, and a Do Not Resuscitate Prehospital Request Form.
Also included is a chart for listing personal and property records and a place to note business record locations. Important toll-free numbers are also provided.
The Resource Guide for Seniors is available at www.agingkansas.org and may be downloaded free of charge. Simply click on "Publications" and then "Online Publications," or click here.
