William C. "Bill" Eggers Jr., a longtime member of the Johnson County Commission on Aging (COA), died March 6 in Overland Park. Services were held March 19.

In addition to his involvement with the COA, Bill served the community in many capacities, including board and committee service with the Center for Practical Bioethics; AARP at the local and state levels; the Brown & Gold Club of Johnson County Community College; Shepherd's Center of Kansas City Central; KCPT public television; Kansas City Hospice; and Senior Leadership of Johnson County.

Bill was a graduate of the University of Iowa and was involved in marketing, advertising, and sales management before his retirement.

Bill's long-term personal goal was to stay involved and active and to help make things better—in his words, "to give back, for I am blessed."
