Linda Wright, former director of the Johnson County Area Agency on Aging (AAA), was the guest presenter during the August Commission on Aging meeting held at the Sunset Drive Office Building in Olathe. Wright presented a brief history of care provision for older adults, from both a national and local perspective. She pinpointed the significance of family contributions, federal legislation directed toward the welfare of senior adults, and the influence of such entities as the AAA. The presentation was made in tribute to the Kansas 150-year anniversary of statehood, which began on Jan. 29 and has been marked with special events locally and throughout the state.
