How should my ad be submitted?

Our rates are based on receipt of electronic files. You may e-mail us at BestTimesDesign@jocogov.org your completed ad as JPG, PNG, or GIF images in 72 ppi.
A link (web address) must also be provided when submiting online ads.

When do you need my ad?

The 18th of the month to reserve space and turn in ad copy for design, the 25th day of the month to submit electronic files.

Can you help me design an ad?

Ad design assistance is available at $50 per hour, at a minimum of one hour. One review/change is provided at no extra charge; additional revisions will be billed at $50 per hour.

How do I pay for my advertisement?

Prepayment of the first ad insertion is due with your web-ready ad on the deadline date, unless other arrangements have been made. Subsequent insertions will be invoiced and due on the last day of the month of publication. The Best Times accepts MasterCard and VISA.

May I change my ad?

Yes. You may change your ad each month. We must receive notification of a pending ad change by the 18th of the month. We would need to have final proof approved by the 25th of the month. If we have not received final approval by the 25th, the same ad/link will be run as ran the previous month.

Am I restricted in what I can advertise in The Best Times Website?

Yes. All advertising shall comply with the "Johnson County Government Advertising Policy and Guidelines." Examples of advertisements prohibited by county policy:

alcoholic beverages and retail establishments that sell alcoholic beverages as their primary commodity; tobacco products; issues, candidates, and campaigns of a social or political nature; language or descriptive material unsuitable for a family publication; promotion of gambling, pari-mutuel betting, or games of chance; firearm sales; and credit cards.

(Insurance and some aspects of travel is allowed.)
