To the Editor:

As a former Kansas City radio person, for about 25 years I've known Pat Paton professionally. The Best Times profile of Pat was wonderful, putting a face on a person most Kansas Citians know only by the results of his work.

Pat is a combination of the old show business PR guy and the always-evolving professional. I always have thought that Pat would've been great creating PR events and stunts for the golden age Hollywood stars.

As a member of the K.C. Media Legends, but living in suburban Tampa, Pat's monthly newsletter keeps me attached to the dozens of media people with whom I worked, prior to my joining the ranks of migrant media managers, moving upward in the corporate world, which required moves to other markets.

My family moved across the state line to Johnson County in 1959, so I appreciate the growth of the area. I was also a columnist for the Olathe Daily News during the 1980s as an outgrowth of my radio work.
