There are many ways to provide financial support for prostate cancer research. One way has local roots.

David Emerson, an Overland Park resident and a prostate cancer survivor, founded the "Faith-Love-Hope-Win Foundation," a 501c3, not-for-profit organization, to heighten awareness of the dangers of prostate cancer and to raise money for research.

Faith-Love-Hope-Win Foundation donations are tax deductible, and 100 percent of its funds are committed to advancing knowledge about, treatment of, and research into prostate cancer through the efforts of the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Emerson's foundation Web site address is www.flhw.org.
