Old age is just a thought
|
Old age is not a cause of death;
Old age is just a thought
That young folks, many years, have sold
And older folks have bought.
We age because we think we should,
As it's the thing to do.
Believing, with advancing years,
That life will soon be through.
All motors, though they knock a bit,
Still run with pain and ache.
But when we're old, we have more time
To hear the noise they make.
When we no longer start new jobs,
When life seems hard and cold,
We worry we can't finish tasks,
Then we are growing old.
I never want to see the day
That isn't full of schemes,
And when I die, I hope to leave
A thousand unfilled dreams.
